Why do people get tattoos? Honestly, their reasons are usually pretty lame.Of course, some are driven by reasons that are intensely personal. Some get a tattoo to commemorate some important event in their life. Some get a memorial tattoo to remember a loved one. Others simply bow to peer pressure because getting a tattoo is the “cool” thing to do, or because everyone else is doing it.
Of course, there are many reasons, some of them legitimate, to get a tattoo. But, in the long run, there are equally as many, if not more, valid reasons not to get one. Here’s a list of the top ten best reasons to avoid them altogether. Bring on the killjoy!
10. Tattoos Frequently Cost An Arm And A Leg
Tattoos cost a lot. A tiny little butterfly on the back can cost $60-$100, depending on the shop you go to, as well as the reputation of the artist. A high end shop can cost a pretty penny, so if you’re a teenager on an allowance, it’s quite an investment. And, of course, tattoos don’t exactly come with a warranty of life time performance. Who knows if you’re really getting a tattoo that will last your entire life long? Or if you really want it to?
9. Tattoos Can Become Infected, Costing You An Arm Or A Leg
If you go to the wrong place or deal with a “tattoo artiste” who doesn’t quite know what they’re doing, the results can be disastrous. A dirty or infected needle can cost you a lifetime of health troubles – in some cases, quite literally an arm or a leg. So be very, very careful where you go and who you deal with.
