Half full? Or half empty? So ask yourself what glass are you drinking from. At this point, you might say from both. Ten games into the season, it’s time to choose. (Although that shouldn’t even have to be a decision).
The only arguement that will be presented here is going to be the “half full” glass. Because quite frankly, the “half empty” glass is for losers, doubters, or the ones who have no faith. You all know who you are, but that’s okay…Go ahead, take the easy way out. But don’t be mad when you get called out for jumping off and on the wagon.
With all that out on the table, let’s see where you really stand. It can be best answered by answering 1 simple question: Do you think a 2 game deficit is too much to overcome? Plain and simple, yes or no. For those who want to complicate it, in five games, can the Chargers win one more than the Broncos in their next five? Essentially setting up one game for all the marbles (AFC West).
Panic has set in and people are jumping off the deep end. Everything that goes wrong, gets blown out of proportion. LT gets stopped behind the line- abandon the running game. The defense gives up a third down conversion- blitz every down. A single Rivers interception- the game is over.
If any of that sounds absurd, that’s because it is. After thinking about it long and hard, this is the ultimate conclusion: Everyone has been spoiled by the recent years success (12-4,9-7,14-2,11-5…) Charger fans have forgotten what it is like to have to struggle to get to the playoffs. Charger fans have gotten used to being 1st in the West. And since things aren’t going down according to their plans, some Charger fans are packing up for the winter. Some Charger fans are walking around town hanging their heads. Some Charger fans are already shedding their Blue and Gold. Some Charger fans.
In general, when people have problems they all deal with things differently. They deal with things in their own way. Some people go to therapy. Some hold things inside. Some people freak out. Some shut down. Some people eat. Some people drink. So if you are thirsty, what glass are you reaching for?
