Our beloved San Diego Chargers hold a slim lead in the all time series over the Purple People Eaters, aka the Minnesota Vikings, 5-4.

The last time the two teams matched up was November 9, 2003, with the Chargers winning 42-28. In a game that invovlved a little bit of magic…Flutie Magic to be exact…then 41 year old, Doug Flutie, lead the way going 21 for 28, with 2 passing TDs, in addition to 2 rushing TDs. It was a game in which FlutieFlakes got the starting nod in favor over a struggling Drew Brees, who was benched by Coach Marty Schottenheimer. The Chargers also got an impressive performance by LaDainian Tomlinson, who had 16 rushes for 162 yards and 2 TDs, one of which was a 73-yarder to paydirt. And how’s this for a trivia answer…in this game 1 of Flutie’s TD was a 4=yard strike to a rookie tight by the name of Antonio Gates.
