This Sunday when the Chargers take the field, they will be in the unfriendly confines of Arrowhead Stadium. They will be surrounded by a blanket of red. But it’s not the Chief’s fans that will have the Bolts seeing red…it will be the memory of the Chargers chokejob in week 4. In a game that the Bolts dominated the first half, they absolutely went into the tank. We all remember, so no details are needed.
No matter what their record is, the Chiefs are always a tough opponent to beat at their house. That, coupled with the forcast of snow, it seems as though the Chargers have an uphill battle on their hands. But then again, the Raiders went in there last week an put out a shocker. And the Raiders are merely peasants compared to our guys.
The Chargers will do battle against a familiar face, in hometown boy Donnie Edwards. Just mentioning his name drudges up the heartache Charger fans have endured this season, when their quiet leader was let go. We have seen the consequences. And they are nothing nice. It’s amazing how one man’s ego almost ruined almost half of the AFC ProBowl team. We lost our beloved head coach, both coordinators, some of the other assistants. Thanks alot Mr. “It is what it is”. But that’s in the past, we have to build a bridge, and get over it.
Tomorrow, I’m looking forward to seeing a HEAVY dose of LT. He’s our man, let’s get him the ball. A nice helping of Antonio Gates will be nice too. And like every week, Phillip Rivers…just manage the game bro. When he doesn’t try to do to much, he is at his best. If he has 25 or less pass attempts, that means we are controlling the game with Tomlinson. Mix up some misdirection and play action. Keep the Kansas City defense on their toes. We all know Donnie will be prepared to give it back to A.J. But he can’t do it all.
I’m looking for the Chargers to do what they do, like I know they can….dominate and overwhelm. I’m looking forward to the Bolts getting a big lead… and fast. I’m looking forward to hearing the silence of the Arrowhead crowd. I’m looking forward to the crowd leaving early. And I am looking forward to seeing red…the red of those empty seats in the stands.
